Operating Systems and Browsers
To work in MyResearchKit, your computer should meet at least the 56 Kps (kilobits per second) connection speed.
The following operating systems and browsers are supported:

To check your operating system, turn on your computer and look for information on your operating system as the computer boots up. You can also find this information in your computer settings. For example, if you have a PC you can look at "View System Information" in "My Computer," which is accessible from the Start menu.
If you are unsure of the browser version you are using, launch the browser and select Help from the menu bar. Next, select "About Browser" (the browser name and the exact wording of the selection will vary) and a window will open with your browser name and version. MyResearchKit is best viewed with a screen resolution of 1024x768.

Browser Tune-up
The Browser Tune-up utility will tell you whether or not media players and plug-in programs are present on your computer and, when they are present, whether they are up-to-date. Tune up your browser before using MyResearchKit to enjoy full functionality of the features.

Registration Help
To register and enroll in MyResearchKit, you will need:
- A student access code The code is packaged with your textbook, or available for purchase on this Web site with a major credit card. (Return to the MyResearchKit home page and click Students in the Register or Buy Access box.) You can also check with your bookstore to purchase a standalone access card. Your unique code will look something like this:
SMPLE - FRILL - TONLE - WEIRS - CHOIR - FLEES
- A valid email account Tip: use an account you'll keep for the duration of your course.
- Author, title, and edition of your textbook. You can generally find this information on the first few pages of your book. Ask your instructor if you are unsure.
- A Section/Course ID. Get this from your instructor.
- Your School Zip Code.
How to register a student access code
- Return to the MyResearchKit home page.
- In the Register or Buy Access box, click Students.
- Click I already have an access code.
- Click I accept after reading the Pearson License Agreement and Privacy Policy.
- Do you have a Pearson Education account?
- If Yes - fill in your username and password (TIP! Choosing Yes and using your existing account will allow you to use the same username and password you use for your other Pearson products)
- If No - Create a username and password per the guidelines provided.
- If Not Sure - Enter your email address and click Search.
- Check or enter required information in the appropriate fields.
- Review and print your Confirmation and Summary page (a confirmation will also be sent to your email address).TIP! Be sure to take note of your username and password—write them down or save them on your computer in a place you will not forget.

Getting Started
Once you have registered, you can login and begin using MyResearchKit!
How to log in
- Return to the MyResearchKit home page.
- Click on Log In under Returning Users.
- Enter your Login name and Password in the Fields provided.
- Click Login.
How to enroll in a course
- Log in following the instructions above.
- Click Enroll in a course.
- Enter the Section/Course ID provided by your instructor and click Submit.
- Confirm that you are entering the right course.
- You may now enter your course. Your course will appear in your MyCourses page.
